Commissioned Art. Just For You!

Pet Portraits are created on a commission basis for clients all over the United States. I specialize in detailed, realistic and hyper realistic drawings of your loved ones. Any animal is on the table but I especially love drawing dogs! I use quality art materials and provide art care information to ensure your commissioned piece will truly last a lifetime. Below is a step by step process for commissioning your own Pet Portrait.

Sizing & Prices

I currently create pet portraits in one standard size. If you are interested in a size not listed, please include this in your details when requesting a commissioned piece. You'll need to decide if you want a drawing that is displayed horizontally or vertically. I can offer my expertise on layout and design and recommend what will work best based on reference photos you provide if you are having difficulty deciding. One thing to strongly consider is where your portrait will be displayed in your home. This may influence your layout decisions.

I require at least 1 high quality, high resolution “headshot” photo of your pet before I can begin a commissioned piece. This is to ensure I can create the best representation of your pet. I will always confirm the details of the piece before I begin creating and keep in mind, the final piece will only be as good as reference photos provided. If you have a different pose in mind for the final piece, other than headshot style, please provide those photos as well. I will do my best to work with photos you have, as I understand you may not be able to capture any additional photos of your beloved pet, especially if they have already passed.

Other things to consider for strong reference photos:

  • Natural Light (outdoors or near a window work great)

  • Avoid direct sunlight (blown out highlights make it difficult to capture detail)

  • Avoid too many shadows (too many dark spots will also make it hard to capture detail)

  • Clear eyes is a must!

  • Cropped images will work if not the only photo for reference

If you are unsure if the reference photos you have will work, please reach out and I can offer guidance.
